I need a flowchart made for my organic chemistry lab. I will try to make it as detailed as possible. We were given an unknown neutral compound and asked to do an acid base extraction.
My mixture contained dichloromethane as my solvent, Cinnamon acid as my acid, 5-chloro-2-methoxyanaline as my base, and biphenyl as my neutral compound. This entire mixture was extracted with dilute HCl to give an organic layer and an aqueous layer. The new organic layer was the extracted with dilute NaOH to give another new organic layer and an aqueous layer. The last layer is supposed to contain my neutral compound and solvent which is separated through aspiration.
Can someone make a flow chart of this?
